In 1864 Don Bosco laid the foundation stone of the Sanctuary of Maria Ausiliatrice. The church was dedicated to the Virgin Mary, who had inspired Don Bosco’s work, and it was built as a sign of devotion to Her. The sanctuary was consecrated in 1868.
In Valdocco you also find the Cappella Pinardi and the Church of San Francesco di Sales. The religious complex is the concrete and spiritual core of the Salesian Fathers.
